The Ministry of New and Renewable energy has increased the central financial assistance for residential rooftop solar consumers of northeastern states, along with the hilly states of Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and the union territories of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar islands.
Residential rooftop solar consumers will receive INR 17662/Kw as CFA for the first 3 Kw. For Rooftop Capacity beyond 3 Kw and up to 10 kw, they will receive CFA of 8,831/Kw.
CFA WILL BE AS PER THE NATIONAL PORTAL SCHEME
For Residential welfare associations or group housing societies, a CFA of INR 8,831/kw for common facilities up to 500 Kw at 10 kw per house will apply.
The ministry had received requests from stakeholders for a Higher CFA line with the higher benchmark costs prescribed for northeastern states, hilly states & Union Territories.
Earlier the CFA for the residential customers was INR 14,588 from 1 kw- 3 Kw and INR 7294/Kw above 3 kw up to 10 kw.
The ministry noted that it had also received ambiguity in both schemes. The queries related to the vendors were empanelled through the state tenders and the Vendors registered on the national portal. These two modes create confusion in the CFA of the scheme.
After considering both modes it has been decided that the UNIFORM CFA will be applicable for both implementation modes. Therefore for all future bids and the bids which are scheduled to be closed after 15 days of the issuance of this notification by the DISCOMS for the installation of rooftop solar systems in the residential sector under the rooftop solar programme phase-2, the CFA under the national portal for solar rooftop will be applicable.
In October 2022 MNRE extended the phase 2 programme until march 31 2026.
